Want to know more about our stainless steel rectangular tubing products?

Main types of Rectangular Tubing

We offer a comprehensive range of stainless steel tubes, available from our central stock or on a forward-order basis through our trusted producing mills. This flexibility allows us to supply complete packages — large or small — across any product type, form, or alloy to meet your specific project needs.

Grades

Our stainless steel rectangular tubing is available in various lengths and grades, including grade 304, 304L, 316, and 316L, which are eminently suitable for applications where corrosion resistance is crucial.

  • Grade 304 is an austenitic stainless steel with high corrosion resistance and good formability.
  • Grade 304L is a low-carbon version of 304, with superior weldability and resistance to intergranular corrosion.
  • Grade 316 is an austenitic stainless steel, highly suitable for harsher environments exposed to chloride-induced corrosion and pitting, because of the added molybdenum.
  • Grade 316L is a low-carbon version of 316, with enhanced weldability and resistance to intergranular corrosion and pitting.

Seamless or welded

Depending on the application and required specifications, our stainless steel tubes are available in both seamless and welded forms.

Sizes

We also supply rectangular tubes in a variety of sizes, ranging from 0.51mm to 25.4mm (0.020” to 1.00” ) outer diameter, and offer bespoke cutting services to match your exact specifications.

Mill finishes

A range of finishes is available, from polished to standard mill finishes, to suit your project needs.

What are the key benefits of using stainless steel rectangular tubes?

Stainless steel rectangular tubes provide numerous advantages — including high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and long-lasting durability — making them a preferred choice for a wide range of applications, particularly where thermal expansion must be carefully managed.

Longevity:

Stainless steel tubing is engineered for long-lasting performance, even in the most demanding environments, providing a durable and dependable solution.

Strength:

Stainless steel is renowned for its strength and the rectangular shape tubes provide excellent load-bearing capacity, making them ideal for various structural and architectural applications.

Versatility:

Their versatility — with a broad selection of sizes and wall thicknesses — makes them ideal for a wide range of industries and applications, from structural frameworks and architectural elements to the harshest industrial conditions. They truly come into their own when exposed to moisture and chemicals, and they can be tailored to meet specific application requirements.

Durability :

The chromium in stainless steel creates a passive layer that protects against corrosion, making it ideal for environments with moisture, acids, or salts.

Low maintenance:

Thanks to its excellent resistance to corrosion and staining, stainless steel requires minimal maintenance and is easy to clean — delivering long-term savings in both time and cost.

They are versatile and ideal for applications where hygiene is critical — such as in food processing, medical equipment, and other sanitary environments.

Aesthetics:

Stainless steel’s sleek, modern look adds an elegant touch to various applications, making it popular in architectural and design settings.

Recyclable:

Stainless steel is 100% recyclable, making it an environmentally friendly material.

Which industries require stainless steel rectangular tubes:

Defence:

In hydraulic systems, fuel lines, and exhaust systems for aircraft and vehicles, robust containers for the safe transport and storage of sensitive equipment and supplies.

Nuclear

Reactor containment vessels that protect workers and the environment, pressure tubes that carry coolant, fuel, and other materials throughout the reactor, structural components for support and shielding, heat exchangers, fuel handling systems, and cooling water systems.

Construction

Structural support and skeletal framework to bear heavy loads and ensure the stability of buildings, bridges, and other large constructions.

Durable and stable metal scaffolding, transmission towers, electrical substations and other electrical infrastructure.

Their sleek lines and aesthetic qualities make them ideal for railings, staircases, facades, and other visible architectural features.

Piping and ducting systems, especially in environments where corrosion resistance is crucial.

Oil and gas

In pipelines for transporting and storing oil and gas, and for structural supports, particularly in harsh environments like refineries and processing plants, offshore platforms, heat exchangers, storage tanks, process vessels, walkways, and handrails.

Automotive

Fuel lines and tanks to ensure the integrity of the fuel delivery system and protect against corrosion.

Structural support and resistance to corrosion in various chassis and body parts.

Aerospace:

In engine parts, fuel systems, and exhaust systems, structural components like landing gear, wings, fuselage, fittings and fasteners where reliability and corrosion resistance are critical.

Food processing

Structural support for various food processing equipment, including storage tanks, work surfaces, and machinery.

Conveyor systems and sanitary tubes for moving food products, tanks and containers, ensuring hygienic and efficient storage and transportation.

Industrial:

Machinery, equipment, storage systems, and pipelines where high temperatures and chemicals are present.

Furniture and decorative:

Furniture fabrication, shop fittings, and architectural elements.

Agriculture:

Irrigation systems, fencing, and livestock enclosures.
