Stainless Steel Suppliers UK
Special Metal Alloys offers four major types of stainless steels in the UK:
- Austenitic – most commonly used
- Ferritic – has similar properties to mild steels but with higher corrosion resistance
- Austenitic-Ferritic (Duplex) – ductile and very strong
- Martensitic – strong and hard with moderate corrosion resistance
Our steel is sourced from world respected manufacturing partners through a world class supply chain. Fifty percent of our new stainless steel production comes from re-melted stainless steel scrap.

Stainless Steel Strip
Special Metal Alloys are the leading UK suppliers of stainless steel strip and are supported by Europe’s leading supplier of spring steels and stainless steel precision strip. Narrow and slit-to-width strip can be provided in coils or processed to your exact requirements.
We offer services such as cut-to-length / blanking, polishing and poly coating, paper interleaving, deburred edges, and fully rounded edges on certain sizes.
We can minimise your machine downtime while your strip is being processed by offering traverse wound coils, which last longer than traditional pancake coils when engaged in continual feed press production.
You can also order stainless steel strip temper that can be rolled to a specific hardness and tension levelled to a specified flatness. We offer re-rolling of strip material to tight precision tolerances.
Stainless Steel Coil Plate and Flat Bar
Special Metal Alloys supplies stainless steel coil plate, sheet or flat bars in standard and non-standard lengths. This covers up to 20m in plate and 15m in flat bars.
Other services include de-coiling and levelling, shearing, sheared strips blanking, rolled edge flat bars, polishing and ink jet marking of materials for traceability.
Stainless Steel and Duplex Forged
Special Metal Alloys sources rough forged and machine completed products in stainless steel and duplex grades from our renowned European supply partners.

Stainless Steel Tube Suppliers UK
The Special Metal Alloy UK range of steel tubing extends to:

We are supported by several specialist tube manufacturing mills in Europe and the USA.
We can supply top quality capillary stainless steel tubing in sizes ranging from 0.51mm to 25.4mm outer diameter. Our available grades of stainless steel include: 304/304L, 316/316L, 316/316L (2.5% min Moly ), 316Ti, 317/317L, 321, 347, 904L, 6Mo, ALLOY 600, ALLOY 625, ALLOY 825, ALLOY C22, ALLOY C276, ALLOY 400, and NICKEL 200.
Our welded round tubes can be supplied in coil (3.0mm – 25.0mm), or fixed straight lengths that can be cut to size (3.0mm – 76.0mm). Additionally, Special Metal Alloys offers welded rectangular (RHS) and square (SHS) sections.
Also available in coil form, straight lengths, or short sections are our re-drawn/precision tubes that can be custom made to a non-standard format. This includes thin walls, tight toleranced welding, or seamless stainless steel and nickel.
Special Metal Alloys has developed many customer-specific solutions for gas flow, steam and liquid applications that are carried out in harsh and aggressive environments. Stainless Steel Oval Tube Suppliers UK
Special Metal Alloys can make seamless and welded oval stainless steel tubes to order. We offer the UK’s largest range of this product.
As with our other steel supplies, our oval and ornamental tubes can be cut to length and specification.
Due to an upsurge in demand in the UK, we have expanded our range to include stainless steel seamless elliptical and stainless steel seamless flat oval tubes for industrial applications. We can now offer seamless and welded oval tubes to any part of the world with excellent lead times.

- Cutting Services – Special Metal Alloys offers precision laser cutting services that will cut your stainless steel and nickel alloy tubes to size. Any additional processing that you require can also be performed before shipment, such as drilling, slotting or bevelling ends for weld preps.

From Manchester Piccadilly Station, head south on London Rd/A6 towards Fairfield St/B6469. Use the right 2 lanes to turn right onto A57(M). Stay on A57(M) for 2.2 miles until it merges with M602 to Worsley. Continue on the M602 for 5.4 miles and at junction 13, take the A575/A572 exit to Worsley. At Worsley interchange, take to third exit onto Worsley Brow. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Barton Rd/B5211. Continue south east until you reach a right hand turning onto Riding Fold Lane. Keep left on Riding Fold Lane until you come to the end of a cul-de-sac.
To find us by car, you will want the M60, West Manchester. Follow the directions above after exiting at junction 13.
