Nickel Alloy – Fast Turnaround

If you are involved in an industry that requires high performance Nickel Alloys, Titanium and Special Metals, then Special Metal Alloys will provide help and support.

We hold several mill agencies and agreements with world renowned market leaders in the manufacture and supply of these materials in all product forms, so we not only offer our knowledge and experience but also bring you theirs.

This gives you direct access to technical advice on Specifications, Norms & Standards and advice on grades direct from the manufacturer.

Why Nickel Alloys?

Nickel Alloys are used for their outstanding corrosion and high temperature resistance. They are highly alloyed compared to austenitic stainless steels with Nickel, Chromium and Molybdenum, which enhances their corrosion resistant properties.

To produce an alloy that has high temperature strength and oxidation resistance the Nickel Based Alloy needs an addition of carefully balanced elements of Chromium, Cobalt, Aluminium, Titanium and other elements.

Super Alloys

These are commonly referred to as Super Alloys or Special Metals.

The major types of Alloys are Iron-Nickel-Chromium Alloys, Stainless Steels, Copper-Nickel Alloys, Nickel-Copper Alloys, Nickel-Chromium and Nickel-Chromium-Iron Alloys, Low Expansion Alloys and Magnetic Alloys.

Titanium has a fantastic strength to weight ratio which makes it an important alloying agent with many metals like Aluminium, Molybdenum and Iron.

This has made it popular in the manufacture of Aircraft, Spacecraft and Missiles due to its low density and ability to withstand extremes of temperature.

It also has excellent resistance to corrosion in seawater so it is commonly used in Desalination Plants, Offshore Pipelaying / SURF Products, Shipbuilding / Submarines and other applications that are exposed to seawater.

Titanium is also used in surgical applications such as joint / hip replacements or as pins etc. for support. They are used in these applications as Titanium adheres very well to bone.

The following forms are available in Nickel Alloy and Titanium Alloy  –   Seamless Tubes, Welded Tubes, Bars, Nickel Alloy Strip, Nickel Alloy Precision Strip, ALLOY 625 and Titanium Banding Systems, Nickel Alloy Sheet and Plate and Nickel Alloy Forged Products.
